To inspect your plates, select the “Containers” page from the proposal menu or click the link in the email you have been automatically sent at each new imaging event.
Select the container you would like to inspect for crystals and/or collected data.
The outline of your container (plate) will be visible. Wells can be viewed by clicking on the drop and the arrow keys on your keyboard can be used to navigate between drops. Alternatively, ‘d’ and ‘a’ can be used to go to the next or previous image.
Scoring your crystals
Drops can be scored using the drop down menu or by using the numbers 1-9, and the colour of the drop will change.
Data collection points or regions can be marked by selecting the relevant button and clicking on the right hand image (point data collection) or by clicking and dragging over the area to be scanned (region/grid data collection).
Press the "+ Mark Point" or "+ Mark Region" button (indicated below) to switch between the two selection modes. Click on crystals or drag a grid over a region to be assesssed. Click the releant button to select between the two selection modes.
To collect data from a crystal in this container, go to the bottom of the page and click on “Prepare for Data Collection”.
A list of your defined data collection points and regions is displayed. Select at most 50 points per page at the bottom left for both “Available Samples” and “Queued Samples”. If you show more it will be very slow.
Queue your samples prior to defining data collection parameters by clicking the + on the right hand of the top table. Alternatively, you can click the +Add Current Page to Queue. Select either the Point button or the Region button! Click the tick box, so that you can amend all your samples at the same time. This will only select the experiments on this page! Select the Preset “VMXi Grid DMM High Dose 10 micron squares” or “VMXi Scan DMM Mid Dose or VMXi Scan DMM Lower Dose” and click “Apply”. You can’t currently change the Box size or Energy. Once you have added the presets to all your points and regions, you can click “Queue Container”.
