Diamond Light Source is delighted to announce the 8th edition of the Synchrotron Radiation School, taking place from Sunday 17th to Friday 22nd September 2023.
The SR School aims to provide postgraduate students and post-doctoral researchers, who have little experience of synchrotron radiation (SR), with a broad-based introduction to many of the different types of experiments conducted using SR.
The school is largely aimed at physical scientists, but life scientists are welcome to apply. This event will give the attendees the opportunity to obtain hands-on practical experience of performing an experiment on 16 Diamond Light Source beamlines.
The school will take place in person, between Diamond Light Source and Jesus College (Oxford), where accommodation for the participants will also be provided.
The format of the school will include a “break the ice” indtroduction session inclusive of a communication/engagement talk, will be followed by 2 full days of lectures on SR methods, 2 days of experiments on the Diamond Light Source beamlines plus 1 final symposium day with a number of leading synchrotron practitioners talking about their research.
