The XPDF Analysis Workshop 2023 will be a three day workshop aimed at less experienced PDF users to expand both the knowledge of the technique and provide methodologies on how analyse PDF and total scattering data.

Overview

Provided by Beamline I15-1 Team, this workshop will be a comprehensive introduction into PDF theory will allow for delegates to understand basic PDF experiments, what makes good data and how to apply for beamtime at Diamond Light Source.

The event will include sessions targeted at various analysis techniques with extensive tutorials provided using TOPAS, Symmetry-Adapted PDF Analysis (SAPA) and Dissolve. This will allow for attendees to apply the analysis routes to their materials, ranging from crystalline to liquids.

During the event there will also be opportunities for those attending to bring their own data and discuss any analysis issues with the I15-1 Beamline staff.

Applications for the XPDF Analysis Workshop 2023 are NOW OPEN until the end of Tuesday 13th June 2023.

Registration fee

If your application is successful, there will be a £100 fee to attend the event, in person, at Diamond Light Source. 

As part of the registration fee, accommodation at the local hotel (check-in 17th - check-out 19th July 2023) plus all meals and refreshments will be provided throughout the course.

Attendees will be required to cover the cost of their transport to and from Diamond.
