We would like to invite you to the next instalment of our new webinar series, a Live Family Webinar ‘Science Sucks! – Why are vacuums so important to modern science?’ on Wednesday 13th May at 1:30pm. Everyone is welcome to tune in as this webinar is specifically aimed at a general audience and no previous knowledge is required. As always you will get the opportunity to ask our experts any questions you might have. You can catch up with our previous webinars on our website here.
*This week we will be exploring why so much of modern science relies on a good vacuum! The Diamond Particle Accelerator would not be able to run without its vacuum systems, tune in on Monday to find out why.*
We will begin with a short talk by David Price explaining why vacuums are important and how the Diamond vacuum system works, then Andy Wolfenden, a Senior Vacuum Development Technician here at Diamond, will answer any questions you or your family may have about vacuums, or his role at Diamond. David Price and Amy Griffin from our Public Engagement team will also be on hand as usual to answer any other questions about Diamond itself.
Tune in on Wednesday via Zoom (please note: questions will be submitted via the ‘Q & A’ function and all attendees will be automatically muted on joining). To receive the joining link please register for the webinar via the link below. Once registered you will receive an email with the joining instructions. On Wednesday all you have to do is click on the link in the email and you will be taken straight to the webinar.
