We would like to invite you to the next instalment of our new webinar series, a Live Family Webinar on ‘Cells up close!’ on Wednesday 20th May at 1:30pm. Everyone is welcome to tune in as this webinar is specifically aimed at a general audience and no previous knowledge is required. *This week we will delve into beamline B24 and explore how Diamond uses microscopy to peer inside cells. We will learn what type of light is used on our microscopy beamline, and how the beamline uses this light to track viruses in cells.*
We will begin with a short introduction from David Price, then Maria Harkiolaki, Principal Beamline Scientist at beamline B24, will take us on a journey through the beamline, explaining how it allows them to discover what lies within cells, whilst also highlighting the unique challenges they face. Maria will then answer any questions you or your family may have about cells or her beamline. David and Amy from our Public Engagement team will also be on hand as usual to answer any other questions you have about Diamond itself.
