Diamond Light Source would like to invite you to a special Live Family Webinar on How the Diamond Particle Accelerator Works on Wednesday 22nd April at 1:30pm. Everyone is welcome to tune in as this webinar is specifically aimed at a general audience and no previous physics knowledge is required. You may have heard about the work Diamond is doing on viruses, but wondered what actually is a particle accelerator and how does it work? In this webinar we will explore the Diamond particle accelerator in an easy and accessible way, plus give you the opportunity to ask questions.
We will begin with a short talk explaining how particle accelerators work by David Price, then there will be the opportunity to ask Chris Bloomer, a Diagnostics Physicist here at Diamond, any questions you or your family may have. David Price and Amy Griffin from our Public Engagement team will also be on hand to answer any other questions about Diamond itself.
