How to apply for I23

Before applying for I23 beamtime, users are asked to fill in a questionnaire related to their project in order to allow beamline staff to assess the feasibility of the experiment. In case of doubts, contact the PBS ([email protected]). Once the questionnaire has been reviewed, users can request from the beamline sample holders of different sizes and combipucks.

For the current call, we support Standard and Block Allocation Group (BAG) proposals, select the appropriate (if you don't know what a BAG is, or you don't belong to an existing one, select Standard)

Standard_BAG_application_uas

Go through the individual sections of the proposal.
Under Beamlines, select I23. In case you would like to request additional screening time on other MX beamlines, also select MX and fill in the Justification as below (adjusting the number of shifts as appropriate)

At this stage of the proposal, a sample declaration is necessary as part of the ERA section (this can be updated as appropriate closer to the experiment).
Please fill in the Experimental Methods section as follows. If you plan other experiments, please seek advise from beamline staff ahead of submission.
