Diamond Light Source held a special Live Family Webinar on Viruses on Wednesday 15th April at 1:30pm. Everyone is welcome to tune in, but this webinar was especially aimed at school children aged 7+ and a more general audience (essentially anyone who isn’t a biochemist and wants to learn more about viruses!). A lot of information has been shared in the media in recent weeks about viruses and how they can be combatted. In this webinar we aim to give you a greater understanding of Diamond’s work on COVID-19 in an easy and accessible way, plus give you the opportunity to ask questions.
We will begin with a short talk on viruses in general, and SARS-CoV-2 (the virus that causes the disease COVID-19) specifically, and participants were able to ask our scientists any questions they had. David Price and Amy Griffin from our Public Engagement team were on hand to answer any questions about Diamond itself.
