We would like to invite you to the next instalment of our monthly webinar series, a Live Family Webinar ‘Students at Diamond: Developments in Accelerator Technology ' on Wednesday 18th August at 16:00pm. Everyone is welcome to tune in as this webinar is specifically aimed at a general audience and no previous knowledge is required. As always you will get the opportunity to ask our experts any questions you might have. You can catch up with our previous webinars on our website here.

**Every year, Diamond hosts a cohort of enthusiastic undergraduate students for a year-long placement, or ‘Year In Industry’. These students make valuable contributions to both research projects and ongoing developments at Diamond. As our current Year In Industry placements draw to a close, tune in to this webinar to hear all about how their valuable work is helping to improve Diamond for the future! This week we will be hearing all about how a new beam halo monitor could inform improvements our particle accelerator, and how we could create a new radiation source for a beamline to expand its capabilities!**

Amy from our Public Engagement team will be joined by Alexander Jury and Emily Howling, both Undergraduate ‘Year in Industry’ students close to completing their placements here at Diamond. Alex and Emily will take us through their projects, giving us an insight into the contributions they have made towards improving Diamond for the future, as well as sharing their experiences as placement students at Diamond. Alex and Emily will answer any questions you have, and as always Amy will be on hand to answer any questions about Diamond in general.
