We would like to invite you to the second instalment of our new monthly webinar series, a Live Family Webinar ‘Biological Machines: A few million molecules at a time' on Wednesday 18th November at 16:00pm. Everyone is welcome to tune in as this webinar is specifically aimed at a general audience and no previous knowledge is required. As always you will get the opportunity to ask our experts any questions you might have. You can catch up with our previous webinar series on our website here.

** This week we will delving into the world of Macromolecular Crystallography (MX) – the study of the structure of biological molecules on a very small scale, finding out their atomic structures and how they interact. We will journey through the process of protein production, purification and crystallisation and then follow the crystals onto beamline I04 and take a virtual tour. Tune in on Wednesday to find out why protein crystals are so important! **

David and Amy from our Public Engagement team will be joined by Elliot Nelson, a Senior Support Scientist for the MX village, who will introduce us to Macromolecular Crystallography (MX) at Diamond - what it is and how we do it! Elliot will also take us on a virtual visit to I04, a beamline within Diamond's MX village, and answer your questions. David and Amy will be on hand to answer any questions you have about Diamond in general.

Tune in on Wednesday 18th November via Zoom (please note: questions will be submitted via the ‘Q & A’ function and attendees will be not be visible during the webinar).
