Beamline Paper

We have recently published our B21 Beamline Paper in Journal of Synchotron Radiation. Here you can find a detailed description of the beamline. If you publish work carried out on B21, please remember to cite it:

Beamline B21: high-throughput small-angle X-ray scattering at Diamond Light Source.

Cowieson N. P.; Edwards-Gayle C. J. C.; Inoue K.; Khunti N. S.; Doutch J.; Williams E.; Daniels S.; Preece G.; Krumpa N. A.; Sutter J. P.; J. Tully M. D.; Terrill N. J.; Rambo R. P.; Synchrotron Radiat. 2020, 27, 1438–1446.

B21: High-throughput SAXS

B21 utilises a bending magnet source and delivers ~4 x 10^12 photons/sec directly to the sample. The photons are distributed over a large 1.1 x 0.2 mm cross-section which is particularly helpful in minimising radiation damage while enhancing the signal of the particles. Our detector is currently configured to measure a scattering vector (q) range from 0.0032 to 0.38 Å-1.
