Software for SAXS

I22 and B21 use GDA, DAWN and ScÅtter extensively. Each has their own homepages where the latest manuals and documentation can be found

• GDA (GDA is an open source framework for creating customised data acquisition software for science facilities)
• DAWN (DAWN is an eclipse based workbench for carrying out scientific data analysis).
• ScÅtter developed by Rob Rambo is a java-based program for bioSAXS
• Shapespyer is a Python toolchain and associated workflows, being developed by Dr Andrey Brukhno​ (SCD), for carrying out computational simulations of molecular nanostructures found in soft matter and biomolecular systems.
• MuscleX developed by current and former students at Illinois Tech with Illinois Tech faculty advising within the BioCAT project. Partial project funding by NIH. The program is especually useful for fibre studies.
• The SAS Portal has a repository of most software relating to SAXS and should be a first port of call for users after obtaining their reduced data. For I22 two of our most commonly used analysis packages are SasView and McSAS. GiSAXS.com has a similar list but is more grazing incidence focused
• Legacy CCP13 (A now ceased CCP for develoing primarily fibre diffraction data analysis software)
• CCP-SAS (Collaborative Computational Project for advanced analysis of structural data in Chemical Biology and Soft Condensed Matter. This is an SI2-CHE Cyberinfrastructure Project addressing Grand Challenges in the Chemical Sciences)
• BornAgain - BornAgain is a software package to simulate and fit small-angle scattering at grazing incidence. It supports analysis of both X-ray (GISAXS) and neutron (GISANS) data.

SasView - type module load sasview from a terminal. This loads the program. To run it you then type sasview at the command prompt.

hdfview - type module load hdfview from a terminal. This loads the program. To run it you then type hdfview at the command prompt.

BornAgain - type module load BornAgain from a terminal. This loads the program. To run it then type bornagain at  the command prompt
