Grid scans now follow a back and forth path to minimise the time required for data collection. The time for a 1,000 point grid scan as shown in the image above is ~40s compared with ~300s previously. The decrease in time required comes with no penalty in positional accuracy, indeed the new scans should be faster and more accurate.
This feature is currently under development - if you have any suggestions or feedback get in touch.
Once a grid scan has started GDA will switch to the grid scan results view.
You now have three possible options when clicking on a box
Option 3 is new and so is explained in a little more detail here.
If you select the above simply click on boxes to add to a list on the right hand side.
When you're happy click "Copy boxes to Data Collection table". (You can also note down positions and paste these into the start/end positions for linescans is desired. A more streamlined/semi-automated way of transferring the positions is in the pipeline.)
After clicking "Copy boxes to data collection table." the positions are then copied to the data collection table (shown below). Edit starting angles, or any other parameters, and then press 'Run all' and data will be collected from each position in turn.
