I04 flux profile

A new CPMU X-ray source has been installed and is in operation since early July 2022. This device delivers a significantly increased flux. The graph shows the flux as a function of energy for different beam sizes.

Dose-aware data collection

The I04 beamline at Diamond Light Source provides advanced dose awareness tools to assist users in optimizing their data collection strategies. We strongly recommend using one of the "Set target dose" modes rather than setting a target exposure manually.

The "set target dose" mode is particularly useful when changing beam size or energy, as it ensures that the beamline operates at a fixed dose, regardless of the changes in beam parameters. RADDOSE-3D program is used to perform dose calculations in real-time, using live beamline data and making approximations when necessary. The beamline control software offers three main modes of operations.

To learn more about dose-aware data collection, please refer to the section.
