Biography
Charlie is a Beamline Scientist for XChem, coordinating user activities, experiements and data processing, as well as taking part in I04-1 operations. He also works as part of the ASAP consortium, carrying out fragment screens against viral targets with pandemic potential.
Charlie studied Natural Sciences (MSci in Chemistry and Biology) at the university of Durham before undertaking a PhD focused on uncovering the interactions between human retinoid receptor proteins and synthetic retinoid molecules, and leveraging that information in the design of a high-throughput fluorescence binding assay for studying protein-ligand interactions.
