Shortly after your session, you would be prompted to complete an ‘End of Experiment Feedback Form’ in UAS (automatically generated email – Diamond Outstanding Actions). This form is your opportunity to detail any shifts that were lost or gained during the session and to provide feedback about all aspects of your time at Diamond.
If you are eligible for reimbursement, you will receive an email from the User Office after the beamtime, indicating how to do a reimbursement claim.
All the experimental data can be retrieved by the following the instructions provided by the users guide from Diamond IT. Depending how long after your session, there is a different download method, as indicated in the link above.
By remote connecting to a virtual Linux session using NoMachine, you can inspect the disk usage of your experimental data, by typing consecutively the following two lines:
cd /dls/i14/data/2021/
du -hs mgxxxxx-y
changing 2021 for the year your session took place, and being the 'mgxxxxx-y' your visit ID
We would recommend saving and storing your data after the experimental session, because it will eventually be archived from the DLS system after a few months (but still accessible on demand, no panic!). But please, check the storage capacity for selecting the right external hard drive.
