- Ice cream research at Diamond Light Source.
We would like to invite you to the next instalment of our monthly webinar series, a Live Family Webinar ‘Shining a Light on Food!' on Wednesday 16th June at 16:00pm. Everyone is welcome to tune in as this webinar is specifically aimed at a general audience and no previous knowledge is required. As always you will get the opportunity to ask our experts any questions you might have. You can catch up with our previous webinars on our website here.
**There’s more to food than just eating it! Most people don’t realise how much research goes in to the food we find on the shelves of our local supermarkets - from the raw ingredients, to the products themselves, to the packaging they arrive in. This week we will shine a light on how food can be researched, investigated and improved at Diamond Light Source. We’ll dive in to food items to a scale not usually appreciated when you eat your lunch. Tune in on Wednesday to learn more about food research at Diamond, and try your hand at identifying foods as you’ve never seem them before!**
Amy and David from our Public Engagement team will be joined by Dr Claire Pizzey, the Deputy Head of Diamond’s Industrial Liaison Team. Claire has extensive experience of running experiments herself and currently uses her knowledge and skills to help companies access the facilities and expertise at Diamond. Claire will take us through the process of investigating food at Diamond, and what is actually possible! Claire will also answer your questions, and as always Amy and David will be on hand to answer any questions you have about Diamond in general.
Tune in on Wednesday 16th June via Zoom (please note: questions can be submitted via the ‘Q & A’ function and attendees will be not be visible during the webinar).
