Shortly after your session, you will be prompted to complete an ‘End of Experiment Feedback Form’ in UAS (from an automatically generated email – Diamond Outstanding Actions). This form is your opportunity to provide details on any shifts that were lost or gained during the session and to give feedback about all aspects of your time at Diamond.
If you are eligible for reimbursement, you will receive an email from the User Office after the beamtime, indicating how to do a reimbursement claim.
All the experimental data can be retrieved by following the instructions provided in the users guide from Diamond IT. Depending on how long after your session you wish to access the data, a different download method will need to be used, as indicated in IT user guide linked above.
By remotely connecting to a virtual Linux session using NoMachine, you can inspect the disk usage of your experimental data by typing the following two lines consecutively:
cd /dls/i14/data/yyyy/
du -hs mgxxxxx-y
replacing 'yyyy' for the year in which your session took place, and replacing 'mgxxxxx-y' with your visit ID.
We would recommend saving and storing your data after your experimental sessions, because it will eventually be archived in the DLS system after 40 days (but still accessible on demand, no panic!). But please, check the storage capacity of you files so that you can select the right external hard drive.
