Grid Scans

Grid scan analysis can be important for showing the crystallinity, and protein like diffraction of matter in the drop. It can be very useful to assess whether a good looking crystal actual diffracts as well as expected. Data collection instructions for grid scans (or regions).

The grid scan heatmaps shown for VMXi show four different analyses:

  • Total signal

total intensity

  • Total Spots

total spots

  • Spots ignoring those estimated to be due to ice

spots no ice

  •  Estimted d_min

estimated dmin
