As well as our on-site activities we also arrange for members of Diamond staff or our visiting scientists to visit you in school.
Secondary Schools/Colleges
A typical visit would involve a talk/lecture to students and an opportunity to ask questions and talk to one of our scientists/engineers. However we have run other activities in the past, such as running a debate session based on our dialogue project. Please do ask if you have any specific requests, such as a debate session or a talk focusing on a certain area of Diamond science/engineering.
Primary Schools
For primary ages we have developed a series of short talks and mini-demonstrations to help engage with your students and to make the science that we carry out accessible. If you have any specific requests please let us know.
Requirements/Costs
We do not charge for any of our activities and there are no specific requirements although we do usually request an expected audience of 60+ students for a talk/lecture (some schools have invited other local schools to increase numbers). Please also note that while we will try to accommodate all requests it is not always possible for us to arrange a visit.
If you are interested in a visit to your school please contact Diamond's Public Engagement Manager Amy Griffin amy.griffin@diamond.ac.uk
