Email: [email protected]I am passionate about showcasing the wide range of applications of synchrotron techniques, with a background in multi-modal imaging to learn more about the chemistry of a sample. Throughout my work this has involved a combination of x-ray fluorescence imaging, x-ray absorption spectroscopy and infrared microspectroscopy. I have worked with a wide range of sample types from disciplines including forensic science, neuroscience and plant science, each offering unique challenges and opportunities for discovery. I am always on the look out for new sample types to image and new fields to introduce to the world of synchrotron science, if you have a sample you would like to learn more about please get in touch.
Rhiannon Boseley is a post doctoral research associate on i18. Rhiannon has a background in Forensic and Analytical Chemistry, with a PhD from Curtin University where she worked under the supervision of Professor Simon Lewis and Associate Professor Mark Hackett. Her thesis, in collaboration with the ANSTO Australian Synchrotron, demonstrated the applications of synchrotron techniques for forensic sciences. Before moving to Diamond, Rhiannon was a post doctoral researcher at the University of Saskatchewan and Canadian Light Source, where she applied synchrotron imaging methods to study different neurological disorders. Rhiannon is now working with the Preston Group, Department of Biology, University of Oxford, to apply these methods to plant tissues and investigate plants with increased metal content and explore how this may help defend against plant pathogens.
