Diamond and Cardiff University (School of Optometry & Vision Sciences) held a workshop for scientists new to SAXS and a user meeting in Cardiff, September 1-3 2010. Latest results plus future prospects for SAXS at Diamond (I22, B21, I12, etc,..) were discussed together with a perspective of the field from the wider international SAS community.
The Workshop for students included technique tutorials and software familiarisation from leading members of the SAS community.
There was a lively poster session with prizes awarded to Robert Greasty from Bristol University and Arwen Tyler from Imperial College for their posters on "X-ray Orientational Analysis of Anisotropic Nanoparticles" and "High pressure as a route to novel inverse micellar assemblies of amphiphiles: structure and dynamics" respectively.
We are planning to continue with the workshop and meeting series and look forward to seeing you all in Sheffield in 2012.
