Dora Yu

Dora did her Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Her Ph.D. project focused on reconstituting and solving the protein structure of a small heat protein with its substrate using cryogenic electron microscopy. This work provides new insights to the mode of anti-aggregation activity of small heat shock proteins. During the time, Dora also gained experience on structural study of membrane proteins. Upon completion of her doctoral studies, Dora worked as a scientist for Pragma Bio in 2022. Dora joined the eBIC team at Diamond Light Source Ltd in October 2024 as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work on the androgen receptor antagonist project in Dr. Peijun Zhang’s lab.
