Electron Microscope Scientist at the electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC)
David joined eBIC in October 2020.
Email: [email protected]David is an EM scientist with experience in SPA and tomography, as well as preparing lamellae with FIB-SEM instruments. He manages Krios III and works with the data analysis team to help develop the processing pipelines used at eBIC. He is a point of contact for the current commissioning call for cryo-serial sectioning (“slice-and-view") method using a Helios Hydra plasma-FIB-SEM.
Until October 2023 David was a PDRA at the electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC), joining the team in October 2020, before which he obtained his Ph.D. at The University of Sheffield in 2019 under the supervision of Prof. Neil Hunter (FRS). For his own research projects, David uses SPA, tomography of FIB-milled lamellae, and FIB-SEM volume imaging to investigate photosynthetic organisms in collaboration with multiple institutions.
