Cecile joined the electron Bio-Imaging Centre (eBIC) in July 2024 and will explore and study important biological problem in situ including virus-host interactions by FIB-milling.

Cecile completed her Ph.D. in Philippe Bastin's lab at Pasteur Institute in Paris (2012-2016) in parasitology / bio-imagery by studying cilia and flagella in trypanosoma brucei (that causes African trypanosomiasis or sleeping sickness in humans and animal trypanosomiasis or nagana in cattle and horses).

In October 2016 Cecile moved to the UK, to work in cilia/flagella on the green algae Chlamydomonas reinhardtii at Marine Biological Association in Plymouth (until October 2019) in
Dr Glen Wheeler's lab, studying the role of calcium signaling in the cilia. Following this contract, Cecile joined Dr Richard Wheeler's lab at Oxford Uni (2019-2024) to work on the proximal and distal proteins in the Leishmania mexicana parasite (one of the species responsible for cutaneous leishmaniasis) with the aim to understand which proteins involved in flagellar beat.
