Laser Heating and EXAFS experiments are part of the NERC-funded Deep Volatiles Programme young researchers' training plan. This one-day workshop is designed to give early career researchers intending to use Diamond an introduction and overview to two beamlines I15 and I18, as well as demonstrate the relevance of these beamlines to their research.

The topics of the workshop will include an introduction to beamline I15, its X-ray diffraction and Laser heating capabilities, as well first results. EXAFS talks will introduce beamline I18 and present results on XANES, EXAFS, and in situ X-ray spectroscopy experiments.

This workshop is one of a series of events to give these researchers, who are involved in different projects and normally work in different institutions and cities, a chance to come together. It provides an opportunity for them to get to know each other and communicate both scientifically and personally.
 
The Laser-heating and EXAFS for Deep Volatiles Workshop is co-organised between the NERC Deep Volatiles programme and Diamond.
