During a 2D ptychographic scan at I08-1, a diffraction pattern is captured at each scan position with a sCMOS camera (AXIS-SXRF 400BSI-EUV) at frame rates up to 24 Hz. A separately acquired dark image is subtracted from all collected diffraction frames. After the scan has finished, the ptychographic Python software framework PtyPy is used to reconstruct a high-resolution image of the sample based on the given set of diffraction patterns and scan positions (measured by interferometers). PtyPy is using GPU processing to accelerate the reconstruction process and can provide an image shortly after the scan completed, this image can then be viewed in the data acquisition client (GDA) and via the ISPyB interface.
Simplified ptychographic data processing pipeline at I08-1
The automated image reconstruction pipeline is currently only available for 2D ptychography scans but will be extended as full ptycho-spectromicroscopy and ptycho-tomography become available at I08-1.
