Diamond is pleased to announce that the Biological Cryo-Imaging (BCI) User Meeting for 2026, is again being jointly held with CCP-EM's Spring Symposium at the East Midlands Conference Centre in Nottingham, UK. The event is open to researchers from academia and industry but everyone with an interest in bio-imaging is encouraged to attend.
The BCI User meeting is an opportunity for current and potential future users of eBIC (the UKs national facility for Cryo-Electron Microscopy) and B24, Diamond's soft X-ray cryo-tomography beamline to get the latest news, have the opportunity to hear about the science carried out by our users and meet our scientific staff.
This year, the BCI User Meeting will take place in the morning and will be followed by the Karen Davies Memorial Symposium. The event starts at 11:00am with user updates, a user research highlight and a round table discussion followed by lunch.
The Karen Davies Memorial symposium will take place in the afternoon, starting at 13:50. This event will bring together colleagues, collaborators, and friends to reflect on Karen’s remarkable career and enduring influence.

The CCP-EM Spring Symposium will follow on from the BCI User Meeting and the Karen Davies memorial symposium. The symposium will take place in Nottingham, on 23rd and 24th April 2026 and provides a forum to highlight state of the art developments in computational cryo-EM and related themes as well as showcasing outstanding recent biological applications.
The joint event promotes an inclusive, friendly atmosphere welcoming both current and new members to the community.
