The ambient pressure (AP) XPS endstation is a modular system that allows maximum flexibility with respect to sample environments. The concept consists of a fixed interface flange which holds the entrance cone of the ambient-pressure electron energy analyser (SPECS Phoibos NAP-150) and the differentially pumped beamline entrance, as illustrated in the figure below. Exchangeable reaction/experiment cells and chambers can then be installed without affecting the alignment of the beamline and analyser.
At the moment, there are two experimental chambers avalible, a large UHV-compatible chamber (tea pot) and a small-volume reaction cell (tea cup).
Please contact the beamline staff to discuss possible alternative options.
