With support from the Wellcome Trust, BBSRC and the MRC, the XFEL Hub at Diamond announces a pilot programme for travel aid to help reduce the financial burdens of XFEL experiments in structural biology. We anticipate supporting up to about four travel grants per experiment after they are independently validated and logistics reviewed to assess the level of support the Hub may provide. We invite UK researchers associated with proposals that have been granted non-proprietary XFEL beamtime around the world to apply for these funds.
Travel grant conditions:
- Only UK based researchers can apply
- Up to 4 members on the same experiment can apply
- Only flight ticket will be reimbursed (invoice to Diamond with copy of the flight ticket should be send to XFEL-Hub@diamond.ac.uk after grant acceptance)
It is anticipated that the scientists may also wish to use one or more of the capabilities within the XFEL Hub at Diamond; these range from sample prep through data processing. To this end, researchers are strongly encouraged to register with the Users’ Office at Diamond Light Source.
The scheme is now open; for further information, please contact:
