I04 is one of five macromolecular crystallography beamlines at Diamond. The typical working wavelength is 0.9795 Å (12.658 keV) but it is tuneable over the wavelength range 0.69 - 2.066 Å (6 keV - 18 keV). On request it is also possible to work at a wavelength as low as 0.62 Å (20keV) with effective 1010 ph/s flux at the sample.
The beamsize can be focussed from 10 x 5 µm2 to 110 x 100 µm2 (h x v) across the available energy range. On request smaller beams in the vertical direction are possible. This will primarily depend on the working wavelength.
All MX beamlines use SPINE standard pins and Unipucks from cryocooled samples. The beamline can be accessed remotely.
The beamline is now equipped with the first Eiger2 XE 16M detector which will enable faster data collection and new data collection protocols.
I03 and I04 are equipped with Eiger2 XE 16M detectors - collect at up to 560 Hz!
