Biography
Mu completed her PhD in 2024 at the University of Oxford (Oxford, UK), under the supervision of Prof. Peter Nellist and Prof. Sir. Peter Bruce. Her doctoral research focused on high-resolution imaging and spectroscopy of surface and interface structures in solid-state Li-ion battery materials. Specifically, she investigated redox reactions at cathode/solid electrolyte interfaces using scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) electron energy loss spectroscopy (EELS)/energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and specialised in damage control during the TEM sample preparation of air/beam-sensitive battery materials through cryogenic-plasma focused ion beam (cryo-PFIB) and anaerobic transfer workflow.
In 2025, Mu joined the ePSIC team as a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) funded by the SOLBAT project, where she continues to address interfacial challenges in solid-state batteries using advanced electron microscopy techniques.
