HPC CONEXS Conference 2025

May 21. till May 23.

HPC CONEXS Conference 2025

HPC-CONEXS is a UK High-End Computing Consortium dedicated to the simulation of X-ray Spectroscopy. As part of the Consortium activities, we are organising the HPC-CONEXS International Conference 2025, highlighting the work carried out within the project and showcasing international developments and applications in the field of theoretical and experimental X-ray spectroscopy.

The conference will feature presentations from leading national and international experts on established and emerging trends in X-ray spectroscopy, with an emphasis on the intersection of experiment and theory. The future plans and opportunities for the Consortium will also be discussed.

About CONEXS

Advances in experimental methodology aligned with technological developments, such as third generation light sources, X-ray Free Electron Lasers (X-FELs) and High Harmonic Generation (HHG), has led to a paradigm shift in the capability of X-ray spectroscopy, including absorption, emission, inelastic scattering and photoelectron, to deliver highly detailed information about the geometric, electronic, spin structure and dynamics on an extremely broad range of samples in a wide array of different environments. However, the complex nature and high information content of this class of techniques means that detailed theoretical studies are often essential to provide a firm link between the spectroscopic observables and the underlying structure and dynamics.

The objectives of HPC-CONEXS are:

  • Bring together experimentalists and theoreticians working in the area of X-ray spectroscopy to achieve new levels of understanding, especially for the interpretation of experimental data.
  • The lead on the development and distribution of computational tools to advance the detailed analysis of experimental XS data and leverage the synergies between experiment and theory developed through within the community to ensure maximal impact from the substantial UKRI investment into this area.

We are delighted to confirm our keynote speakers as follows:
