Tristan10M is a 10-million-pixel large area detector based on the Timepix3 ASIC. It is organized in a 2 × 5 module matrix, with each module composed of sixteen Timepix3 chips. The detector features a continuous readout, enabling data collection with a time resolution of 10 ns. Instead of creating images, the detector records the time and position of each photon, along with the laser trigger (or pump source), into the data stream. The time resolution or data binning can be adjusted during the processing stage allowing greater flexibility in the post processing of time-resolved data.
Users who require the detector for time-resolved studies should get in touch with beamline staff before writing a proposal.
