Biography
Kiranjot has worked in the area of soft X-rays during her PhD where she utilized soft X-ray reflectivity technique to determine the optical properties of materials important for X-ray optics and to investigate the surface and interface properties of multilayered systems such as multilayer mirrors and X-ray waveguides.
At Diamond, she is working to broaden her research expertise to probing magnetism as well using resonant magnetic scattering. She has been involved in the determination of charge and magnetic scattering factors of magnetic materials which are required for analysis of scattering data. She is also working on current induced magnetisation reversal in ferromagnet/heavy metal bilayers in collaboration with colleagues from Diamond and Durham University, and exchange bias reversal in ferro- and antiferromagnetic heterostructures.
