Diamond Light Source is proud to be an award holder of the HR Excellence in Research Award. We first attained the HR Excellence in Research Award in 2020 and underwent a five-year review in 2024/ 2025 to successfully retain the award.
The HR Excellence in Research Award is an important mechanism for implementing the principles of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers - an agreement between funders and employers of research staff to improve the employment and support for researchers and research careers in UK Institutions. It sets out clear standards that research staff can expect from the institution that employs them, as well as their responsibilities as researchers.
