Archana graduated from the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU), Aurangabad, India with a BSc degree in Chemistry, Botany, & Microbiology (2008) and a MSc degree in Microbiology (2010). She worked for 2 years as an assistant lecturer at Government Institute of Science & Government College of Arts & Science at Aurangabad before doing her post-graduation diploma in Plant Health Management with specialization in Pesticide Management (2013) from National Institute of Plant Health Management (NIPHM), Hyderabad, India. She worked for 3 years as a pesticide residue analyst at NIPHM before coming to United Kingdom for her doctoral training in 2016 under BBSRC-Newton fund. She graduated from The University of Edinburgh with a PhD degree in 2020. Her doctoral training was based at The Pirbright Institute, UK and her thesis was focused on understanding the molecular mechanism of oncolytic properties of Newcastle disease virus (NDV) in human cancer cell lines. Archana has gathered expertise in Cellular Biology, Virology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, & Analytical Chemistry during her studies, career & doctoral training.

After completing her PhD, she worked with The Pirbright Institute for 4 months as an e-learning developer to develop study modules on NDV for the Poultry Health Course designed to train veterinarians within & outside the UK. She joined B24 beamline in October 2020 as a Beamline Support Scientist for 1 year. During her tenure she developed skills to work with cryo-Structured Illumination Microscopy (cryoSIM) & cryo- Transmission X-ray Microscopy (cryoTXM). In November 2021, she joined Immunocore Ltd., a biotech company based at Milton Park as a scientist & worked on a non-classical class-I human leukocyte antigen (HLA) molecules for 5 months and now she is back in B24 beamline as a Beamline Scientist. Her interest is into using her skills in understanding host-pathogen interactions at cellular level using an interdisciplinary approach.
