Announced at the AAAS 2019 Annual meeting, Diamond Light Source is launching a revolutionary citizen science campaign, using the insight from everyday citizens to help train artificial intelligence (AI) to identify virus particles, and help speed up scientists' ability to analyse data - like that taken at Diamond and eBIC!
It's easy! All you need to do is to look at some images online to see if you can find any differences between them. No special knowledge id needed and you can do it on your mobile, tablet or computer whenever you have a few minutes.
This work will benefit all mankind by dramatically speeding up scientists ability to understand their scientific data in days rather than weeks. This will help to increase the rate at which important research can be understood, leading to faster drug development and disease recognition.
