Frederick Allars

Frederick completed his PhD at the university of Sheffield in 2023 under the supervision of Dr Andrew Maiden. His PhD studies centred around implementing near field electron ptychography on the Transmission Electron Microscope and using this technique to obtain quantitative large field of view phase images.

Frederick is currently interested in ptychography technique development and applying ptychography to material systems. He joined diamond as Post-Doctoral Research Associate investigating Ptychography in 2022. His roles include supporting ptychographic data processing, ptychographic code development and aiding in the setup of ptychographic experiments.
