Biography

Andy did his undergraduate degree in Chemistry at the University of Oxford and completed his masters’ research project “Computational and experimental structural studies of LinXO4 polymorphs” in Professor Bill David’s research group.

Andy is currently undertaking his doctoral studies at the University of Oxford with funding from Oxford, Diamond Light Source and STFC. His studies are focussed on the processing of large datasets which probe the structural properties of materials. His primary materials system of interest are cathode materials for sodium ion batteries but he is interested in developing techniques that can be applied to a variety of systems. His most recent work has been focussed on clustering and domain mapping Scanning Electron Nanobeam Diffraction (SEND) data collected on E02.
