Your development

Apprenticeships give you not only the skills and knowledge you need for a job role, they also help you develop “behaviours”. Behaviours are personal skills which are really valuable and important in lots of situations in life including at work.

As part of Diamond’s programme you join us for one week every year during your apprenticeship at Skern Lodge to really focus on developing your personal skills such as:

• Team work
• Communication
• Problem Solving
• Personal challenge and resilience
• Working under pressure
• Assessing and managing risks
• Supporting others
• Self Awareness and emotional intelligence

This development is delivered by providing a variety of activities and team exercises during the week. Some examples of the activities are kayaking, rafting, climbing, archery to name a few and lots of team-based or problem-solving challenge exercises which are focused on specific learning outcomes.
