General policy
Data analysis requires typically much more time than the experiment itself. You will understand that the I08 team can only provide support for using data analysis software. We are not able to analyse your data except especially agreed. You are encouraged to attend training courses that most of the software developers offer. Some of those will be held on a frequent base at Diamond Light Source.
Mantis
I08 provides full support for the Mantis 'Multivariate data analysis for spectromicroscopy' software by 2ndLookConsulting, which includes features as integrated data converter, data preprocessing, principal component analysis, cluster analysis for classifying pixels according to spectral similarity, SVD for composition map calculations, peak identifier, X-ray peak fitting, non-negative matrix approximation analysis, among others. Mantis-XRF includes analysis tools for XRF like ROI analysis and a GUI for MapsPy for X-ray fluorescence peak fitting. The software has been recently adapted to the I08 requirements. Implementation of online analysis tools are ongoing and will be available in near-future.
Executables for Windows, Mac OS, GNU/ Linux and the source code can be downloaded at www.spectromicroscopy.com. Manuals and documentations are available here.
PyMCA
I08 continues to give restricted support for using the PyMCA package.
DAWN
The 'Data Analysis Workbench' (DAWN) is an eclipse based workbench for doing scientific data analysis. It implements support for visualisation of data in 1D, 2D and 3D; python script development, debugging and execution; workflows for analysing scientific data calling Python binary codes. DAWN is supported by the Software for Data Analysis Group at Diamond Light Source.
aXis2000
Sorry, we do not provide any support for aXis2000. Improved routines used in this software package are implemented in Mantis.
