Short Term Study Visa

The Short-Term Study Visa may be available to individuals in certain limited circumstances and for a period of up to 6 months (11 months in the case of English language courses), to accredited and higher education intuitions. The Short-Term Study Visa is not available to Diamond. To be eligible to apply via this route, applicants must:

• Have been accepted:

1. On a course of study by an accredited institution (Diamond is not an accredited Institution). The student will be required to provide an acceptance letter from the accredited institution confirming acceptance for the course of study; or
2. By a UK Higher Education Institution to undertake research or learn about research (Diamond is not a UK Higher Education Institution). The student must be studying on a course overseas that is the equivalent of a UK degree level course, and the research must form part of (or be relevant to) the course. The overseas education provider will need to provide confirmation of the course and that the research relates to it.

• Intend to leave the UK at the end of the course or at the end of the 6 months (11 months in the case of English language courses);
• Maintain and accommodate themselves out of funds available to them; and
• Meet the cost of their return journey.

Please note that short-term students are not allowed to work in the UK, either in a paid or in an unpaid job. They are also not allowed to enrol on a course of study that includes a work placement or work experience and may not do voluntary work. Applicants must also not intend to study in the UK for extended periods through frequent or successive periods as a short-term student.
