Funding has just been confirmed for the third tranche of beamlines (Phase 3) for Diamond and the beamline selection process is in progress. The Science Advisory Committee and Diamond directors have asked us to write a full proposal for next January for an Inelastic X-ray scattering beamline (two branches: soft and hard).
To facilitate this, we are holding a workshop on the proposed beamline on the Monday 6th December 2010. Diamond will pay for the reasonable travel expenses of attendees up to £100. More may be available subject to budgetary constraints. Claim forms will be available at the meeting. The meeting will initially be limited to 40 people.
Apart from international speakers there will be a “round table” with short presentations (5-10 min) from anyone who feels s/he can contribute something, e.g. previous IXS experience/results, new ideas, possible flagship experiments or just relevant information, or what IXS would mean in his/her science area, etc. etc. Please send us your title and short abstract and estimated time duration you would ideally like to talk (no guarantee).
In order to attend this meeting you have to register below. Registration is free.
Support letters for the beamline need to be submitted by the 20th December 2010.
