This is a four year Level 3 Engineering Technician apprenticeship which begins at level 2. You will develop electrical, mechanical and electronics skills which is perfect if you’re undecided on a specialism or would like to be trained in a variety of disciplines.
Diamond provides a range of work placements that will give you the opportunity to work in different areas of the synchrotron, this ensures you get the on the job learning and experience you need during your apprenticeship.
You will attend the Abingdon Campus three days a week during your first year on the Level 2 apprenticeship and two days a week working at Diamond, please note that it is important that you are able to get to both places. The time at college reduces during years two and three when are on the Level 3 apprenticeship course with the final year being full-time at Diamond.
