Diamond's accelerator team had a fantastic reason to celebrate last night, Thursday 4th May 2006.
During the night shift, the team were successful in getting electrons all the way around Diamond's 561.6 metre Storage Ring. This is the culmination of a lot of hard work by many people at Diamond over a long period of time and this achievement means that the machine is well on its way to being operational in January 2007.
Definitely a great moment to be savoured and celebrated by everyone at Diamond.
