Diamond Light Source is pleased to announce that we have successfully retained the prestigious European Commission’s HR Excellence in Research Award (HREiR) following our five-year review. This significant achievement underscores our commitment to fostering a supportive and stimulating research environment.
The award has been retained following a strict review and evaluation process, which included a bench-marking exercise and panel interview with representatives from research institutes from across Europe, including University of Gdansk, Bath Spa University and Nottingham Trent University.
The HR Excellence in Research Award is an important mechanism for implementing the principles of the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers.
Our success in retaining the award demonstrates our long-term commitment to the career development of researchers. We have achieved this by completing a gap analysis and progression of actions from the last action plan and producing a new robust action plan, with research integrity as the main focus.
Retention of this award following our first international review is a huge endorsement of our efforts to enhance the experience of Diamond researchers. We look forward to the challenge of implementing our action plan.
Steve Collins, Chair of Diamond's Scientific Training Advisory Group
We're incredibly pleased and proud that the hard work invested into the process has been acknowledged and resulted in our retention of the award. We will continue to strive to make changes at Diamond in the coming years that will have a positive impact on our research employees and look forward to sharing their impact in future reports.
Kay Reynolds, Organisational Develompent Manager at Diamond
