Biography

Alistair Siebert was appointed as the HeXI PBS in 2021. Prior to arriving at Diamond as one of the founding employees of eBIC he was the senior EM scientist for five years at the Division of Structural Biology, Oxford. Postdoctoral research fellowships were performed in cryoET and cryoEM of membrane proteins at the New York Structural Biology Centre and the Biocentrum Basel. His longstanding interests in membrane protein structural biology and cryoEM began as a PhD student between the laboratories of Neil Hunter and Per Bullough during studies of the photosynthetic apparatus of purple bacteria.
