Secondary standards for SAXS

There are two length scale calibrants commonly used in SAXS, silver behenate and collagen, each of which has limitations. I am involved in a project to develop a new secondary nanoparticle standard that is easy to synthesise, yet reliably provides particles of well defined sizes with low poydispersity. Scattering from these particles can then be used to calibrate length scales using textbook physics.
