Liam joined eBIC in January 2024 as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate in Dr Karen Davies’ lab. Liam’s work focuses on using cryo-EM and x-ray crystallography to investigate the molecular basis of target cell recognition used by Tailocins with the overall aim of providing sufficient structural knowledge necessary to design Tailocins to target disease-relevant bacteria.

Liam obtained his PhD under Prof. Andy Lovering (University of Birmingham, 2024) where he studied the mechanisms governing surface motility in the predatory bacterium Bdellovibrio bacteriovorus. During his PhD, Liam gained extensive experience in x-ray crystallography, protein crystallisation, molecular cloning and protein purification.
